Units Will Serve Veterans Across U.S.
Senator Sherrod Brown and VA UnderSecretary for Health Dr. Robert Petzel joined Farber Specialty Vehicles officials, members of the Ohio congressional delegation and Veterans service organizations (VSOs) to send off the first of 20 Mobile Vet Centers (MVCs) that will serve Veterans in rural or underserved communities across the country. The MVCs support the Department of Veterans Affairs efforts to expand access to health care and readjustment counseling, while bolstering Ohio’s economy through the purchase of these American-built products.
These 20 Mobile Vet Centers will join a fleet of 50 others, all built by Farber in support of VA’s mission to expand access to care for Veterans in rural parts of the country. VA Mobile Vet Centers support readjustment counseling services for combat Veterans and their families. These vehicles have been maximized for multi-use and include confidential counseling space to be used for outreach and remote counseling. The MVCs also provide for VA health care enrollment and can be used for preventive care health screenings and mental health medical support.
